Wiley High School is looking into the possible transition from 8-man football to 6-man football. The move is being considered due to a number of factors, including high school enrollment numbers and a shortage of players. The CHSAA bylaws outline a high school enrollment of 1-72 students for 6-player football and 74-171 students for 8-player football. Wiley high school has 58 students (total, boys and girls) and this is the expected number for next year and the following year as well based on current enrollment. Wiley is hoping a change to 6-player football will help the team remain competitive and safe in the upcoming seasons. The transition would take place for the next CHSAA Cycle, starting in the 2024-2025 seasons. With this information, Wiley would love to hear from the community on this matter. Wiley will be hosting a community meeting at 6:00 PM on Thursday November 9th in the Wiley School Cafeteria. Please join us to share your thoughts.
Thank you,
Mr. Adame

Elementary Parents:
As stated in the Elementary Handbook, October 31st is the final day that students are allowed to wear shorts until April. Please make sure that your child is not wearing shorts to school from this point forward.
Also, with the temperatures turning cold, please make sure that you child is wearing appropriate clothing such as a coat, a hat, and gloves. Students will be going outside for recess as frequently as possible, so making sure they have the appropriate clothing to stay warm is essential.
Please call the school with any questions or concerns. 719-829-4806
HUGE congratulations goes out to Rachel Kopasz and Johanna Brown on being inducted into Lamar Community College Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society this evening for their academic excellence. Great job, girls!!
