Tremendous first week! It was a great two days with teachers and the wonderful first two days with our secondary students! Can't wait for the elementary students to start on Monday! It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Wiley School Open House and at the Back to School Picnic. Thank you so much to the Lions for providing the meat for the picnic. We could not have had such a successful event without the Lions support! Thanks again to all the families who brought food and to those who assisted with set up and clean up at the event!

PUBLIC RELEASE Community Eligibility Provision Wiley School District is participating in a Universal Breakfast and Lunch Program for the current school year (2023-2024). All students enrolled at Wiley School may participate in the breakfast/lunch program at no charge to them. However, the application for free/reduced meals is used for many things besides school food. Filling out the application helps us receive additional program opportunities from the state to better serve Wiley students. As Colorado moves to free school meals, this application is still extremely important in getting us funding, program opportunities, and state support for change. Please help us and your child by filling out the application. We appreciate your participation and investment in your child's future. The school breakfast and lunch that we serve follows U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. The Universal Meals Program cannot succeed without your support; please encourage your children to participate in school meal programs. All meals will be served to all students at no charge regardless of the eligibility status. Non-discrimination Statement: In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. Program information may be made available in languages other than English. Hi Wiley Staff, Students and Families! Just over a week and the 2023-24 school year will be under way! The school administrative team and I have themed this year "Under Construction!" We have been busy trying to construct a successful start to the 2023-24 school year. Much of that construction deserves a huge thank you to Mr. Bart Michael and his crew for the tremendous amount of work they have done this summer to help outfit Wiley School with new flooring, new paint, and new furniture. The school looks great! Another welcome to the new staff joining the Wiley team this year and a warm welcome back to our wonderful returning staff. Your hard work and dedication to Wiley students, families, and community is appreciated and does not go unnoticed. I am anticipating a productive two days of preparation, "construction," with staff on Monday August 14th and Tuesday August 15th. I know many staff members have been at school already setting up their classrooms to be welcoming learning spaces for students. I challenge all of us, including myself, to continue to make Wiley school the positive place that welcomes all and makes all students feel cared for and excited about their learning journey. Between the school day, extra-curricular activities and other events, many students spend as much time with us, or more, than they do at home. Each day, and for every one of our students, we have the ability to make their day great or simply make it better. It is a choice, each and every one of us can make as we enter the new school year. Our frame of mind, enthusiasm, compassion, humor and appreciation of all that we have is projected onto our students and the experiences they have each day. What we do, how we react, and the environment we create is so important for students to feel successful in our classrooms. Fall sports and activities are getting underway and students are ready to proudly represent the Wiley Panthers! I look forward to cheering on your dedication, skill, and success. I know all Willey participants will compete with pride and dignity and promote good sportsmanship befitting Wiley Panther tradition! I'm excited to see all the smiling faces of students, staff, and parents next week and celebrate the beginning of the school year with you all. Families, thank you for entrusting your student's education to us. Ms. Erin Brophy, Superintendent

Elementary Registration
Hello from the Special Education Department! With the 2023-2024 school year approaching, Iwanted to take the opportunity to thank the Panther students, staff, and community for welcoming me, Cheyanne Adame, as the new Special Education Director and Social Emotional Counselor. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, and I hold the National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential from the National Board of Certified Counselors. During the 2022-23 school year, I was able to spend time in Wiley School as a school-based therapist through a local community mental health center. In this role, I came to know the staff and students here and knew it was a place that I would be honored to serve. This will be my first year as a school based educator, but I have experience as a youth therapist for ages 2-21 and feel that I will be able to use this experience and training to meet the needs of Wiley students in unique and innovative ways that also promote mental health and wellbeing. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve students through both teaching and offering mental health support (more information on this to come!). Along with my onboarding, I am excited to share that we have added to our Paraprofessional team at Wiley for the 2023-24 school year, allowing for comprehensive care and support of our students to help reach their learning needs and goals! New Paraprofessionals joining the team: Amy Pryor Bekka Bennett (kindergarten aide) Sheila Anderson Returning Paraprofessionals: Annette Coen (preschool) Regina Mason (preschool) Cassie Gallegos McKenzie Middleton (Teacher in Training) Jaelin Parker Mayra Salgado To the parents/guardians of current students involved with the Special Education Department, I know that transitions can be hard. I want to encourage all of you to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. In fact, I would be more than happy to spend some time with your child(ren) to get to know them and allow them to get to know me prior to the start of the school year if needed or interested! If you would like to set up a meeting with me or set up a time to meet your student(s), you can contact me at the school, as I am in the building most mornings 8am-12pm. I will also be at the registration days and look forward to meeting all of you and your students! Sincerely, Cheyanne Adame Special Education Director Wiley School District cheyanne.adame@wileyschool.org 719-829-4806
